The 2 Week Adventure Begins

Andrew began his 4 week paternity leave, and we started our two week trip in Key West with Andrew's family. Aside from an annoying overnight delay in Atlanta, our flights were good and Aiden was a very happy traveler. We were lucky enough to get an empty seat between us for almost all 6 flights which worked out well for nap time. During our overnight delay we ended up with a one bedroom suite which was great with a baby and to my surprise the hotel room was already baby friendly which let us relax.

Chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick :)
The hammock store... and some roosters
We went out the ocean for the day, found dolphins, snorkeled and there was a little napping.
 Lots of pool time...
 Near the southern most point...
 Aiden was very helpful unpacking.

Casey & Nelson visit Seattle

Casey and Nelson flew up from California to visit for the weekend.

We had Angie and Nick over to catch up. We were able to re-create this awesome picture from one of our first weekends together in AmeriCorps (2009).
It was a relaxed evening catching up and being educated on the Giants and the Padres :P
Unfortunately Aiden started off the weekend with an ear infection. Andrew and I picked him up early from day care, got him antibiotics and a nice long nap with his dad. By Saturday he was good as new.
We ate Santorini's on Lake Washington.

We got a babysitter Saturday night, started off with dinner at The Athena in Pike's Market and to Zig Zag Cafe for drinks.
After parting ways with Angie and Nick we headed to one of our downtown favorites, Noc Noc, where we met up with Leigh.
Nelson had never been here before and I attempted to capture his experience of this unique establishment. Some might call it a "farmers market" moment. First there was concern and quiet observation. Then he began to question where he was and how should one approach this situation.
But with a little time and beer came enjoyment. Comments like "man, I'm sweatin' my make up off" from a gentleman at the bar did not phase him. And by the end of the night he had fully embraced the Noc Noc experience.

And Aiden eats a lime...

July 4th Week

This week started off extremely hot with 90 degree weather and no AC. We went to the pool, played outside in the shade and ate out for dinner most nights.
We had ideal weather for the fourth though, high 70's with a sunny afternoon. We started of the day early at Green Lake with Tom, Emily and Kenny. We got a great spot with a picnic table right on the water. The downside to this... a hippie drum circle banged un-rhythmically on their drums 30 feet away from us for 4 hours. Then we headed over to Debbie and Gabe's for the evening and ate Chicken cooked in their backyard wood burning stove, followed up by some toasty s'mores and other great food from their garden.

Aiden and our house got to be featured in some footage for a baby monitor ad at work.
We started the day off right with bacon and egg for 4th of July breakfast.
Aiden has grown just enough hair on the top of his head for a mini mohawk.

Aiden is climbing the stairs daily now.
His dad's hair is very good at tickling his belly.
