26 Weeks

Tom and Emily came over this weekend for food and games. We went to The Root Beer Store and had root beer floats and of course beer. I cooked brisket in the crockpot and Emily made a bundt cake. Needless to say, there was no shortage of goodies. After Aiden went to bed we were able to play some game uninterrupted, one of our newest is Carcassonne.

 Lounging with the parentals...
We visited with Nina this week. She came over for a walk and then over the weekend went to her house and hung out in her garage studio. Aiden had a great time with Sophie dog even if she did like to bark at him, and we brought home some beautiful lilacs.
Aiden had his first swim class this weekend. He did very well and and was comfortable in the water even after going under twice.
"That's right, if you aren't going to sleep through the night you have to learn to make us coffee!"

He's screaming and screeching all the time....

Wishing he could crawl...

25 Weeks

Aiden's been sitting up quite a bit more with only a little help. He's even starting to play with toys on his own and grabbing everything within reach.
Now that he can roll around playing on the floor lasts much longer and he's not crawling but he does manages to maneuver himself around to grab toys.

He can regularly be found eating his toes, one of his new favorites.
While eating his toes he got really excited when he looked around and found his dad.
Spring is starting to show through again so we've been able to go walking.
Playing on the kitchen floor, probably with the cats. We chase them around the house and pet them. Mostly they don't mind unless Aiden screeches with excitement. That makes them a little nervous. He's very funny now, because he looks for them and when he finds them he flails his arms and legs excitedly and if they look back at him he laughs.
We had several parents and babies over Saturday. Most the pictures taken were on Henry's camera so I don't have much to show from that event. His friend was trying her very hardest to grab his hair. Luckily there isn't much there to grip.
Andrew and Elly are testing out the new Wii U together.
Giggles!
Spashing!
"Why won't these legs work?!"

The Hampton's Came to Play

Andrew's parents and sisters arrived Thursday and left very early Sunday morning. We were very excited to have them stay with us. This was his sisters first visit since Aiden was born and our first visitors since the initial visits when life wasn't too exciting yet. We were all a little more rested, a little more fun and able to do more out of the house this time. We have such a smiley happy baby now.

We went downtown to Pike's Market for lunch and a little shopping/meandering.
Aiden loves playing with Aunt Ali.
He can't get enough granny and pa time.

We finally got a family photo with all three of us, about time.
Poor, unsuspecting Aunt Sister had no idea what was coming...
When grandparents visit parents get to play... we went into Seattle Friday for some alcoholic fun. We started the night at our favorite happy hour spot, Noc Noc, before heading to Capitol Hill
with Tom and Emily.
All the weekend fun and guests required a recovery nap with daddy.
After trying solids for the first time a few weeks back, we just recently gave it a few more attempts as Aiden started showing more of an interest in what we were eating. He is very insistent on taking the spoon and "doing it himself." He's now tried avacado, broccoli, sweet potato and banana.
He is loving his jumper!
(I pumped extra in preparation for our Friday night festivities. I don't drink often, it's usually wine and I typically would not pump and dump. I just time my drink. But after getting home Friday I did once based on my level of tipsy. I kept it just out of curiosity and tasted it the next day. It was noticeably alcoholic... details you all wanted, right?! I have to document these things for myself or I'll forget.)

23 Weeks

Aiden has been a super happy baby most of the time lately. This is new to us the last few weeks, since he quit teething. We'll take every minute we can get, it makes life so much more enjoyable (we're certain it won't last). Sleep has been a little rough still, typically getting a max of about 4 hours at night between feedings. Occasionally it's a little longer but more often it's a little shorter. From what we've read sleeping can get worse with development, starting solids, and becoming mobile. Aiden is rolling all over the place constantly, getting really good at grabbing and holding on to toys, and showing more of an interest in food. He actually laughs, squeals and giggles now. My favorite is this weird gasp noise he makes when something is funny because he can't coordinate laughing and breathing. So cute!
We had a stationary jumper but it just wasn't working for our house. It was too big to move through a doorway without taking it apart and we don't really have the space to leave it in one room of our house, so we got a doorway jumper. He doesn't spend more than about 5 minutes in it but so far he seem to like it.
So much happy tummy time now!
This was the first time he actually showed an interest in consuming a reasonable amount of food (about 1 oz). He thinks it's better to feed himself. We think it's far less affective.
 Lounging with his dad...
These two are quickly becoming besties. But, you'll notice Elly's never within arms reach of Aiden :P
Andrew and I had lunch overlooking Lake Washington together during work this week. Spring made a brief appearance and it was gorgeous!
GIGGLES!
