35 Weeks

Instead of a picture this week, I'm posting a wiggly baby belly.

The Finishing Touches

We finished the tiling last weekend, and I grouted during the week. Then this weekend it was just a few finishing touches, baseboards, a mirror, hanging the shower curtain, and the guest bathroom is complete.
This is what Andrew looks like after cutting tile all day.

Hacksaw's Baby Shower

Debbie and Gabe threw a great party/baby shower over the weekend. It was gaming themed... we painted, ate delicious meat, and had a great time seeing everybody. You can see the artists intently at work, some happier with their final product than others (...Nina).

Everyone painted gaming graphics on little canvases to be hung in the baby room as once piece of art on multiple canvases, a polyptych is the technical term if you're smart like that (which I'm not, I had to look it up too).

Emily made this great sign for the shower that said "Welcome New Player" and she had a little sign on it for each of baby's nicknames, Pacific Spiny Lump Sucker, Turtle, Little Man Hampton, and Hacksaw. It's now hanging in the baby room awaiting his arrival.

And thanks to Henry for taking the great pictures!

The Baby Room Gets Unpacked... Finally

After all the baby showers and deliveries the baby room looked something like this for several weeks...

Saturday, while Andrew had to work (sadly), I finally got around to unboxing, unpacking and uncluttering, and now, we look a little more organized and prepared.

A Vanity and Toilet Go In

Despite working quite a bit this past weekend Andrew was bound and determined to make progress in the guest bathroom. He was more motivated that I was, which is pretty unusual around here. The vanity we ordered from Home Depot arrived Friday so in preparation I grouted the newly laid tile floor Thursday, so Saturday evening we were able to get the new toilet and vanity installed and working with no leaks. Then tonight, with a little elbow grease and a suggestion from Papo, we managed to get the last bit of plumbing done and leak-free in the shower. That just means we have to put up the last section of backer board and tile the walls to complete the major overhaul in this room. Then it's just finishing touches... a mirror, shelves, baseboard... etc.
