Holiday Party

We got all dressed up and headed into Seattle to the EMP (Experience Music Project) for the Microsoft Holiday party. Cee Lo Green headlined the evening which was pretty fun. There was food and an open bar, but sadly it took about 30 minutes to get a drink, so we filled each hand every time we went up :)

The Shower is DONE!

The major overhaul is nearly complete! The grout is done curing (after 10 days!) and we were finally able to use our shower for the first time this weekend. Friday the uncracked counter top should arrive and if all goes smoothly the bathroom will be 100% done after this weekend. :) See the start of this project...

Tiling is 100% Done!

Yay! Finally! The tiling in the bathroom is done. Now we just need to finish grouting and install the fixtures and it will be ready to use. Andrew also wired the heated floors and they are amazing (our cats are obsessed with them).

Our vanity arrived and is in place, but unfortunately the counter top arrived with a slight crack so we are on hold until the replacement arrives... hopefully within the week.

The Family Visits

And my camera battery was dead the whole, so all I have to show from the weekend are a few photos from my camera phone while visiting Anacortez. It ended up being a beautiful day :)

Tiling is Almost Complete

We just have a few more small pieces to cut and place on the floor and the walls. It's getting very close!

Trying My Hand at Drywalling

Unfortunately Andrew has been working crazy, silly hours but I am bound and determine to keep making progress on the bathroom. This past weekend I finished the drywall, taped, mudded and laid the cement board for the floor. We have the plumbing complete for double sinks and Andrew did complete the wiring for our heated floor. Yay! I wasn't that excited about the heated floor initially but it will be so worth it in the end.

I taped and finished the walls myself after watching almost all of the videos from drywalling expert Laurier Desormeaux. He's pretty awesome! The true test will be putting on the first coat of primer. Wish me luck!

Visiting Portland!

I drove down to visit Sarah in Portland. She moved into a new two bedroom apartment with a roomate, Kimberly. There place is awesome! There's far more space than her previous studio and now she has a car which should hopefully make life a little easier.

Baby cakes... YUM!

We saw these super cute purses at a random store in downtown Portland.

Also, found this chocolate mustachio :)

Casey Returns!

Casey came up from Sacramento this weekend to visit! She came bearing gifts of girl scout cookies (since she works for the Girl Scouts) and wine. Casey's trip was short but sweet and we made good use of every minute she was here. We'll disregard the fact that her plane was delayed 3 hours Friday night. We spent a night out at Noc Noc and then dancing. We ate Thai food, walked Pike's Market, saw the gum wall for the first time (really gross in person) and spent time catching up. It was a great weekend!

Freezing Veggies

...And some strawberries too! After our 20/20 nutritionist appointment this week we realized we would be tearing through vegetable in the next few weeks, so we bought 40 pounds of broccoli and 30 pounds of green beans from the Redmond Farmers' Market to freeze. We are also having breakfast shakes with berries every morning and we've almost finished the 2 trays of strawberries we already have, so we got another 2 to add to the freezer.

"Got That Glitter on My Eyes!"

Emily and I rocked out with Ke$ha this weekend! It was everything we had hoped it could be. Ridiculous Amazingness!

Chopstix

We went out for our friend's 26th birthday to Chopstix, a dueling piano bar. It was awesome and sadly I have few pictures to represent the awesome evening or the trampoline jumping that started off the night. And although I did document Whitney being serenaded by the pianist, I missed her dancing on stage during the second song they sand to her. She was a great sport!

Oh So Many Tomatoes...

54 jars to be exact and that doesn't include the sauce that was made and had to be canned the next day. Debbie, Gabe and I canned over 150 pounds of tomatoes on Saturday.

Let the Tiling Begin

I feel like there is actually an end in sight. We've started tiling and that's the last major step in the shower/tub renovation.

Summer is Amazing

A quick photo of Mount Rainier from the 520 bridge. It's a good reminder of why we love living here.

Falling with Whales

Andrew's sisters, Ali and Aaren, came to visit us. We went skydiving, and by "we" I mean Andrew and Aaren. Ali and I supervised from the ground ;)

We also went on a whale watching extravaganza! We left from Anacortez and saw great views of the Olympics, lots of Orcas, the Interceptor from Pirates of the Carribean, seals and a bald eagle. We were definitely not prepared for the cool ocean weather, but next time we'll be better prepared.

4th of July Weekend

Chris came to play for 4th of July weekend. We had a total blast! We went to the Red Hook $1 brewery tour, visited Snoqualmie Falls, ate sushi, went out to Noc Noc and The Chapel with a few of the AmeriCorps, and chilled on the back porch with our new outdoor heater :)

Clearly ready for a good time...

My champagne glass broke and I don't know why or how.

Tom & Emily Got Hitched...

And we celebrated!

Tom and Emily got married in New Harmony, Indiana on June 18, 2011(near Evansville... kinda middle of no where) and Andrew and I were both in the wedding party. We had an amazing time meeting family and catching up with old friends. Their wedding reception definitely rivaled our own and after the reception ended we took the after party to the only bar in town, The Yellow Tavern, where they stayed open until 3am just for us :)
